I tend to seek out the origins of plants and there names and Jing Orange I'm not so sure about. The variety has Asian origin so I think its safe to assume the Chinese medicine association of the word jing where it has the meaning 'essence.' The pods have orange tones, but culturally the color is said to represent harvests, happiness, wealth, and celebrations.

Like most okra varieties, harvest is definitely something that Jing will bring...
