Contrary to what you might think, this pepper actually originated in New Mexico. The pepper made its way to Anaheim in the late 1800's where they were commercially grown.
Emilio Ortega is responsible for the commercial production of these popular pepper pods.
Anaheim peppers are a medium to large type , up to 10 ", and are mild, 500-1000 SHU. This makes them versatile in the kitchen. Roast 'em stuff 'em fry 'em or eat 'em raw!
